Hi all,
So now that my web designer has seen his illustration I made for him, I can happily post my newest illustration up! It was a great trade-off, and I honestly can't recall having so much fun working on an illustration. It broke me out of my stupor, I think.

So, this is the Comcast building, and there is a terrifying vending machine robot wreaking havoc. Enjoy.

Update: New Website

Hi Everyone!
I have been tirelessly working on my freelance gig so I haven't had much time to devote to personal stuff lately, other than my marketing materials, but am happy to say that my website: heathersurprenant.com is going to be up by the end of the week! That's good news, right? I am very excited! I'll be getting back into sketch mode soon enough, which is good because I have had a few ideas nagging at the back of my mind. More art to come!

Swept

This started looking like the Reddit alien ages ago, but I couldn't stop myself from continuing.
If you look close enough, you can see he's doing a little housekeeping.

Stir

I haven't really thought of how I want to color this. I just know I want to try something new in regards to color, and am still taking my time with this one.

But here it is so far, in all of its basic, uncolored glory.

What is everyone else's inspiration? I'd love to get names of artists I've never heard of before, or maybe you can help me with the direction of this one! As artists, it's never to late to learn a new thing, right?

Swarm

Ok, I must have lied. I can't believe I had forgotten all about a piece I was working on. I definitely think this could be considered a swarm.

An interesting way to go about illustrating is letting chance take the wheel. I was stuck one day, so I just started spattering tea on a piece of paper. I didn't know what to do with it afterward, until a week or two later when I noticed they kind of looked like jellyfish. And that's that. Most of the time when I get to drawing, I never know what I am going to come up with. It's always a surprise.

And this was quite a nice surprise!

It's good to stay busy.

So, I can't for the life of me figure out what to do with "Swarm" this week. It almost seems like there hasn't been any time to think of what to draw (as I have never regurgitated artwork for the sake of posting. Hot off the press is my style for Illustration Friday.)

I've been totally consumed with my work this week! I can't even work on my personal portfolio, jeez. The restaurant I work for has moved me to a higher rung this past week. I am now their in-house graphic designer/Office Manager. Pretty good for only having started out as a hostess at the beginning of January, eh? Heather is moving up in the world! Awwwwyeassssss... can someone say salary?

I am now juggling a few different things. Revamping a restaurant's image, my portfolio, Illustration Friday, the 100 Themes Challenge, and my first ever comic with a good friend.
Check out his blog, he's got great work, http://phosart.blogspot.com/
He'll be writing, and I will be drawing.

I'd like to revamp my website as well. Let's just put that on the list. http://heathernant.com/
It's a bit too.. garish? Is that the word? I'm thinking a more relaxed color scheme. Also, I made this over a year ago, so it's definitely time for a redesign.
It's good to stay busy.

Oop, I just thought of something for Illustration Friday. Let's see if I have time...
